​This year's Olympic game(s) is slated for August 5, 2016 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil amidst economic recession, a presidential impeachment, rampant inner-city violence, Zika virus epidemic and reports of serious infrastructure problems with the sites of the games themselves. Yet the country is not relenting in putting up a positive brand image one that is reflected in the games' theme song, "Alma e Coração (Soul and Heart)," performed by samba star Thiaguinho (signed to Som Livre-'free sound' Brazil's third largest label-behind Sony and Universal, owned by media conglomerate Globo and home to superstars like Jorge & Mateus). The uptempo and inspirational track featured
Projota and was produced by electronic duo Tropkillaz.

These creatives said they were picked  Last year after the Olympic committee put together an RFP [recommendation for proposal] to choose a music label for the games, and we were chosen.

We compose and produce official tracks and a score, and we've already released four different compilation albums based on the Olympics in four distinct Brazilian genres, including samba/bossa nova and MPB [Música popular brasileira, basically Brazilian pop].

All the Artists Behind Rio Olympics Anthem Are Brazilian. This came after the duo tried contacting their international rap colleauges but never got a reply back.

Katy Perry has released a new single that marks her first new music since her smash 2013 album , " Prism . "

Perry delivers soaring vocals on the song , " Rise ," to match inspirational lyrics , which include the line , " Victory is in your veins . "  The song is being released ahead of next month 's Olympics and Perry says NBC has chosen to use it as an anthem for the Rio Games . Perry has also put out a video for the song featuring Olympic athletes, including Gabrielle Douglas, Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt .

Perry explains in a statement that she released the song now instead of waiting for her next album because there's " a need for the world to unite." She says she can ' t think of a better example of coming together than the Olympic athletes.

Virginia rapper and G.O.O.D. Music president Pusha T isn't new to waxing theme records for brands. His past project being McDonald's 'I'm loving it' . Recently PUSHA T teamed up with Ariel Rechstaid for Gillette's direction for the Rio 2016 summer Olympics commercial on a remix for Sia's unstoppable.

Pusha said "Ariel contacted my management. I came to L.A. and sat down with him as he played me visuals and pieces of the production he had done. He showed me the ambition in the visual Gillette put together — super inspirational, super ambitious. A lot of it was about perseverance and struggle, and it showed the effects of working hard and reaching your goals, and that's what I got from it. He just made the sound that matched exactly what I was looking at. PUSHA T's album 'KING PUSHA' album is slated to drop at the end of the year.
